I make read rings as a hobby for my own projects and also for other Finnish projects. I make in some amount of read rings also for foreign projects, because I am interested to develop different types read rings. It gives to me also resources and production volume to find best read ring materials. I prefer to help new exiting research projects, because I have very limited possibilities (time) to engrave the plates and roll the rings.

I prefer to make only the engraved plates and leave the rolling to the projects (it is easy , look at rolling ). You can easily make the rolling tools, but I can deliver ones, if needed. I make the rings using a mixture of two fonts (Aeronaut and DIN). Have a look at fonts and the comments about them in how-to-read-pages. You are free to choose the materials, but I do not recommend ABS. 

The price of read ring plates and rings depends on the size and the material of the rings and the time of order and delivery. I do not like making rings during my own ringing season (May-July). You must note that I have no possibility to store special materials (colours). The delivery time for some good materials can be 4-6 weeks and the minimum delivery can be 10 sheets (size 1200 x 600 mm). 

Note that I am not making rings for business, but only for scientific projects. My production is very limited, because I want to ring myself and keep the production under VAT-limits. That means that I can produce only about 10 000 rings/plates in a year. I use that “profit” to my own gull research and to develop of rings. My priorities are the projects, which produce comments from the functionality of the read rings. I like also to help new project to start. I am avoiding to produce rings during my own field season May-July. I have produced actually all Finnish read rings i.e. >30 000 rings/plates. I bit more I have made for tens of different projects into Europe.

Notes

Prices are for cheap materials like ABS and PVC. Add 0.1 euro for good materials (PMMA). Add 0.2 euro for the best material (3ply-1.0mm PMMA), which is an expensive special no stock material just made for me.

For new design add 10 euro and a set of samples add 10 euro. For difficult check codes add 0.1 euro. Small batches (<100 ones) add 10 euro. Tools for rolling cost 20 euro and special opening pliers 10 euro and Bison glue 4 euro/tube. Normal postage is 10 euro. Accepted orders before December gives a discount -10%. For late orders add extra: in April +10% and in May +20%. No deliveries in June-July.
